An engagement session is the quiet chapter before the wedding: the way you look at each other when nobody is watching, the laughter between portraits, a dress moving in the breeze. I plan the day with you, then photograph and film it together with my husband. You don't need to know how to pose: I guide you gently, so everything feels relaxed and real. The images are perfect for your save-the-date, your wedding website and your invitations, or simply for the two of you.

Every day is planned around your style, the season and the light. A typical day looks like this:

Prefer a Shorter Engagement Session?
Not every session needs a full day. If you would like a shorter engagement session in Bellagio, Varenna or another place on the lake, sessions start from €1,000 per hour. I still help you choose the place, the timing and the light. Write to me with your date.
Where to Take Engagement Photos on Lake Como
- Bellagio: stone stairways, the lakeside promenade and the point where the lake's three branches meet.
- Varenna: pastel houses, quiet lanes and the Lovers' Walk along the water.
- The gardens of Villa Melzi, Bellagio: lakefront paths, a Moorish pavilion and a lily pond. The gardens close in the late afternoon, so we plan them earlier in the day.
- Villa Monastero, Varenna: a loggia, fountains, twisted columns and terraces right on the water.
- A private boat: the most cinematic part of the day, with the villas and the mountains behind you.
- A villa setting reserved for you: for privacy and the most editorial atmosphere.

The Best Time for Engagement Photos on Lake Como
The early morning and the golden hour before sunset bring the softest light and the fewest people. In summer, Bellagio and Varenna are busiest from late morning to late afternoon, so I plan the villages early or late and the villa in between. Varenna, on the eastern shore, keeps the warm evening light longer than the western shore.
The most beautiful months are May, June, September and October. In winter, many gardens close, but the villages and the lake feel almost private.
What to Wear for Your Lake Como Engagement Photos
I graduated in fashion design from Istituto Marangoni in Milan and design my own couture line, FRAQAIR, so styling is part of how I plan every session. Lake Como loves soft colours, elegant silhouettes and fabrics that move.
- Colours: ivory, champagne, soft blue, taupe, blush, cream, muted pastels and black
- Fabrics: silk, satin, chiffon and linen, which move beautifully in the lake breeze
- Style: an elegant dress or tailored suit, timeless resortwear or romantic eveningwear
- Shoes: comfortable shoes for the cobblestones, with heels for the key portraits; flat, soft soles on the boat

Lake Como Engagement Photography FAQ
How much does a Lake Como engagement photo shoot cost?
This full-day package is €5,000. It includes complete planning, styling guidance, a private boat, a villa or exclusive-use setting, around 300 edited photographs and a 3-minute cinematic film.
Can we book a shorter engagement session?
Yes. If you would like a shorter session rather than the full day, engagement sessions start from €1,000 per hour. Write to me with your date.
How far in advance should we book?
For spring, summer and early autumn, book at least 2 to 3 months in advance. For weekends, peak dates, the boat or a villa, earlier is better.
Can we choose several locations?
Yes. In one day, we can combine nearby places, such as Bellagio and the gardens of Villa Melzi, or Varenna and Villa Monastero, with the boat at golden hour.
Is a private boat included?
Yes. The boat is part of the day, for portraits and film on the water, usually at golden hour.
Is video included?
Yes. My husband and I photograph and film the day together, and you receive a 3-minute cinematic highlight film.
We don't know how to pose. Will you help?
Yes. I guide you gently through the whole day, with simple directions and natural movement, so the photographs feel elegant and intimate, never stiff.
Do you help with styling?
Yes. Before the day, I help you plan your outfits: colours, fabrics, silhouettes and a change of look if you wish.
Can we use the photos for our save-the-date?
Yes. The photographs and the film are perfect for save-the-date cards, wedding websites, invitations and engagement announcements.
What happens if it rains?
We adjust the timing, the route or the place: villa loggias, covered corners, a better light window or a different boat plan, so the day stays as beautiful as plan A.
