The water is the most private place on Lake Como. There are no crowds, no tickets and no closing times, and the boat can pause wherever the view is most beautiful: in front of Villa del Balbianello, off the colourful houses of Varenna or at the tip of Bellagio. I plan the day with you, then photograph and film it together with my husband, so the photographs and the film tell one story. You arrive with the ring. The rest is planned.

Your Private Boat Proposal Day
Every day is planned around your story, the season and the light. A typical day looks like this:
- Before the day · The planningThe idea, the route, the cover story, the exact place for the question, the flowers and the restaurant. Your partner never hears from me.
- On boardYour partner thinks it is a romantic boat ride. The captain follows the shore past the villas and the cypresses, towards the place we chose together.
- The proposalThe boat slows in front of your view, or you step ashore at a villa setting reserved for you, with flowers already in place. We photograph and film from a discreet distance.
- After the yesChampagne on board, then portraits on the water as the light turns golden, and a short stop on shore for a walk by the lake.
- The celebrationLunch, an aperitivo or a candlelit dinner at a lakeside restaurant chosen in advance, as the last chapter of the day.

Your Boat and Captain
For most of my days on the water, I work with Bellano Water Taxi, run by Andrea and Alessio from their private dock in Bellano, just north of Varenna. Choose the boat that suits your story: Little Angel, a Comitti limousine with teak finishes; Agata, a Venetian-style water taxi with mahogany interiors; or Victory, a classic Venetian wooden water taxi.

Where to Propose on the Water
- In front of Villa del Balbianello: the most iconic view on the lake. Its gardens close long before sunset, so a boat is the only way to propose here in the golden light.
- Off Varenna: the colourful houses climbing from the water, with Castello di Vezio above.
- The tip of Bellagio: the point where the lake's three branches meet, with mountains on every side.
- The Tremezzina shore: grand villas, gardens and cypresses along the water.
- A quiet stretch of open lake: when you want nothing in the frame but the two of you, the water and the mountains.

The Best Time for a Boat Proposal
The most beautiful hour is the last one before sunset, when the light turns golden and the water calms after the afternoon breeze. Early morning is just as still, and wonderfully quiet.
Boat proposals are possible from spring to autumn, and May, June, September and October bring the softest light. In spring and autumn, choose a boat with a canopy and bring a warm layer: the air on the water is cooler than on shore.

This full-day package is €5,000. It includes complete planning, a private boat with a captain, a villa setting reserved for you, a floral setup, a champagne moment, restaurant celebration planning, around 300 edited photographs and a 3-minute cinematic film.
Can we book a short proposal session instead of the full day?
Yes. If you would like a short proposal session rather than the full-day experience, with the proposal and engagement portraits right after the yes, sessions start from €1,000 per hour. Write to me with your date.
Is all the planning included?
Yes. I plan the idea, the cover story, the boat, the route, the villa setting, the flowers, the proposal moment and the restaurant with you, so the day feels effortless for you and natural for your partner.
How long is the experience?
It is a full day. The exact schedule depends on the route, the proposal moment, the portraits and the restaurant.
Where does the boat depart from?
Usually from Bellagio, Varenna, Como or another place on the lake, depending on availability and where you are staying. I choose the most beautiful and practical departure point with you.
Do we propose on the boat or at a villa?
Either. The question can happen on board, in front of the view you love, or at the villa setting reserved for you, with the boat as your arrival. I help you choose when we plan.
Is video included?
Yes. My husband and I photograph and film the day together, and you receive a 3-minute cinematic highlight film of your boat proposal.
How many photographs do we receive?
We always work for the result, not the clock. You receive around 300 edited photographs: the proposal, your portraits, the ring, the boat, the flowers, the lake and the celebration.
What should we wear on the boat?
Flat, soft-soled shoes are kinder to a varnished deck than heels, and flowing fabrics move beautifully in the wind. In spring and autumn, bring a warm layer for the water.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Lake Como is beautiful in many kinds of weather. If it is unsafe or very unpleasant on the water, we adjust the timing, the route or the place, and keep the day safe and as beautiful as plan A.
